Emmy’s Academy is an early intervention childcare center providing an early learning environment with low student to teacher ratios. We will accept all children regardless of diagnosis or special circumstances ages 6 weeks through 6 years old. We offer a tailored experience for all children.

  • Candidate will be responsible for the care of children ages 6 weeks to 6 yrs. of age in a mixed environment
  • Candidate will be responsible for teaching developmentally appropriate educational material to children ages 6 weeks to 6 years of age
  • Candidate must be a self-starter
  • CPR/FIRST Aid certified or must be willing to obtain
  • Must have a passion for children
  • Candidate must have an open/flexible schedule

Teacher (Performs other related duties as required):

  • Provides instruction, as needed, according to plans as prepared by the regular classroom teacher and manages. Or helps to manage as the case may require, classroom behavior and environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor or administrator
  • Uses appropriate judgment to act in the best interests of students at all times
  • Maintains a classroom environment which promotes active learning
  • Maintains daily classroom routine, including distributing and collecting supplies, keeping attendance records, setting up meals, etc.
  • Attends mandatory meetings and trainings
  • Adheres to Emmy’s Academy policies and procedures
  • Uses appropriate judgment to act in the best interest of students at all times

Essential Functions: Maintains a Safe and Healthy Environment

  • Maintain an orderly learning environment
  • Share routine duties with other staff (supervision on playground, toileting, cleanup, classroom maintenance)
  • Assist in keeping room and other areas neat and clean
  • Interact with children in activities he/she is supervising
  • Perform health checks on children daily
  • Perform monthly classroom and playground safety checks and reports deficiencies to Special Needs Teacher or Director
  • Perform appropriate hand washing and sanitizing procedures

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct children in age-appropriate activities designed to promote whole-child growth
  • Create a fun and safe learning environment
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
  • Communicate with parents on students’ growth and progress
  • Maintain the health and safety of all students

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields preferred, but not required
  • Possess a teamwork mindset, strong communication skills, organization skills and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to build rapport with children, families and peers
  • Positive and patient demeanor

Required education:close to finishing high school or equivalent OR higher education
